![]() A comic book archive or comic book reader file (also called sequential image file) is a type of archive file for sequential viewing of images, commonly for comic books. Im using comicrack with comicvine to get metadata (windows). The idea was made popular by the CDisplay sequential image viewer since then, many viewers for different platforms have been created.Ĭomic book archive files mainly consist of image files, typically PNG (lossless compression) or JPEG (lossy compression) files, stored as a single archive file. Havent gotten that far yet but I will be keeping an eye on this. Seems like all the software choices out there are designed for CBR/CBZ, but having to convert my existing collections just would be painful. Occasionally GIF, BMP, and TIFF files are seen. ![]() In addition, folders may be used to group images. Im finding that perhaps 1 in every batch of 10-20 cbr files I try to convert to cbz end up getting stuck in transition. I have a number of comics that cannot be converted from CBR to CBZ. ![]() The files themselves have converted successfully, but I end up having to fish them out of the scripts folder of the ComicRack install directory and move them back to a scanned folder.Ĭomic book archive files are not a distinct file format only the file name extension differs from a standard file of the given archive type. I use the function 'export books - convert to cbz', but unsuccessful. ![]()
